McCOy and I were at the park today... just cruisin, checkin out the ducks and the train and just taking a nice walk... when I saw these Moms with their two young girls ( about McCOys age) catching what they called minnows with little hand held fish nets... they had pails full of them and at the end of the day.. ofcourse they would return them to the pond.
I love free fun like this... I totally remember catching what we called guppies at Polliwog park in Manhattan Beach... and I think as we get older... we forget those small fun free things.... and get blurry with admission prices and planned events.
Not that I am complaining because we have a ton of fun at the waterpark,,, but it cost us $400 to get season passes for the family and I also have a yearly pass to the childrens musuem and the list goes on.... activities here and there add up... going to the pottery bisque and the gymnastics tumble class.... her swim class.... ballet in fall, all cost money. My new turning of the leaf... is seeking out creative ways to have fun that are free and more memorable... and less " class" oriented.
What are some of your ideas of ways to have fun as a Mommy with your Children? please share... maybe we can sharpen each other and spur along the others creativity. Comment here to share.!

Hula Hooping! My daughter and I have started to hula hoop together. It is great excercise and she loves it. What a simple thing and cheap too! She likes to take her hula hoop everywhere we go and put on little shows:) Love it.
Night swims....sure the kids LOVE going during the day.....but I've convinced them into taking a "GOOD NAP" so that we can HAVE MORE FUN AT NIGHT!!!! They are on their best behavior because they LOVE looking at the 8:30pm clock and saying....."NOT TIME FOR BED.....time to SWIM!!!!!!" Super cute!!!! You should could up!
Let her plant her own little spot in the garden, so she can take care of it and watch it grow from from a tiny plant, into a great big veggie or fruit she can pick and eat.. How fun...my girls love to garden and get soo excited when its time to pick things from it..
